Completeness inspection of spools
In the production of spools for ABS braking systems, they need to be investigated for complete purging after injection moulding. Analysis of the filling study showed that two tappets and a circular segment on the top are appropriate for inspection. The parts are produced in large quantities, removed with a gripper and placed on workpiece holders in two tracks. The parts are inspected on this workpiece holder and sorted into good and bad accordingly.
This application is performed using the CV-600 machine vision system and an arrangement of four cameras with LED flash lighting. Image capture is triggered by light barriers and is carried out as a cycle. In the inspection areas, the actual purging contour is compared with the taught-in target contour. Above an adjustable variation, the part is assessed as bad. With an inspection time of 100ms per part, the system is fast enough to perform parallel inspection of two parts with two cameras each. When the inspection of all 16 parts is complete, the spools are discharged into good/bad containers according to the inspection result.
