The Motek in Stuttgart (international trade fair for production and assembly automation) has closed the doors - time for a little summary.
OCTUM GmbH, Renntalstraße 16, 74360 Ilsfeld, Germany
Higher quality requirements in pharmaceutical and medical technologies at the same time as faster production lines are placing increased demands on the automatic inline inspection of containers used, such as ampoules. In this context, there is a need to detect both cosmetic and critical defects in the production cycle and to eliminate non-compliant products from further use in the process.
OCTUM ampoule inspection system solutions automatically detect the following defects:
Automatic inspection is usually done using smart camera systems in a transmitted light arrangement at cycle rates up to 36,000 items/h. Individual inspections can be configured customer-specifically and can therefore be easily adapted to any product range changes. Inspection severities can also be set customer-specifically and product-specifically.
Process linking can be done via any common standard interface – the immediate process feedback ensures that the quality of delivered products is consistent. Execution of the complete system solution can be compliant with GAMP 5. The OCTUM system software OCTUMISEr, which is installed either on a stand-alone computer or integrated into the customer HMI, is used for visualization. OCTUMISEr is available as a 21 CFR Part 11 component. Automatic ampoule inspection from OCTUM is the guarantee that only perfect ampoules reach patients, even at high cycle rates.
