When the label determines the brand
In cosmetics, first impressions count: Is the label neatly positioned, is the code correct, is the language right? In practice, changing layouts, many variants and high cycle rates come together on the production line – an ideal environment for errors.
We rely on automated label inspection with industrial image processing. The system checks, among other things:
- Position and alignment of the label
- Completeness and legibility of texts and codes
- Variant and language assignment (correct version for the correct packaging)
Depending on the requirements, typical inspection methods and standards are used, e.g.:
- OCR (Optical Character Recognition) for reading plain text
- OCV (Optical Character Verification) for comparison with target data (e.g. best-before date/batch)
- Barcode and DMC checking (DataMatrix codes) including GS1 format (structure & plausibility)
The result: less waste, less rework – and packaging that fits the brand and reliably meets regulatory requirements.
