Many project problems have surprisingly little to do with ‘the camera’ – and a lot to do with the basics surrounding it.
The most common causes:
- Unclear requirements at the outset: Which errors are really critical – and which are only ‘visually noticeable’?
- Too few real sample parts in the concept phase: Without real borderline cases, it will be expensive later on.
- Lighting is underestimated: Or only considered once the mechanics are already in place.
- Interfaces to PLC/MES planned too late: Integration at the end = surprises on the production line.
- Training & handover not firmly planned: The system must run in day-to-day business – not just in testing.
Addressing these points early on saves time, budget and nerves later on – and results in a system that really works in everyday use.
