Effective and low cost decentralized visual inspection.

Assembly lines but also complete production processes are more economical, the earlier defective parts eliminated from the production process. Decentralized visual inspection with smart networked cameras is the ideal tool for process and cost optimization. Inspection of individual process steps is technically easier and less expensive than the end of line inspection of a complex product. At the same time results are available locally for direct process control. This also avoids the proliferation of systematic errors and additional process steps (and therefore further costs) on an already defective part. We have developed OCTUMISEr  for this – a central operating, monitoring and configuration software for smart cameras of the In-Sight family from Cognex ideally suitable for effective use in all branches.

End of line visual inspection for complex tasks.

End of line Visual inspection is essential in many production processes to prevent defective parts from reaching the customer. Complex part geometries and defects that are difficult to contrast often have to be inspected here. This is the domain of the PC-based solutions with our  CV_Inspect system software for the in-line use of stationary or robot-controlled cameras. Typical tasks for this area are:

  • 2D & 3D surface inspection
  • 2D & 3D assembly inspection
  • 2D & 3D parts measurement 
  • 2D & 3D robot guidance
  • 2D & 3D reading of characters and codes

The Bosys Engineering company in Oldenburg is Octum's representative for Northern Germany and the bordering countries. Thanks to this local presence we are able to offer our customers and potential customers in the North fast response times and improved services. The cooperation focuses on acquisition and sales, local technical support for Octum installation will be subsequently set up and expanded.
